How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching is not therapy. Coaching is different from traditional therapy in that coaching does not focus on psychological issues. Even though emotional issues may arise, coaching is designed to identify a client’s goals, develop action plans and skills to achieve the goals, and create routines and habits to move the client forward to success. Rather than focusing on the past, coaching focuses on what the client wants now and in the future. Coaching helps build insight and awareness to your life, examine thinking process and modify mindset in order to achieve a higher quality of life. This is done through active listening, empowering questions, support and accountability. Coaching deepens your own understanding and creates an action plan with you to achieve what you want.

How long do clients work with a coach?

The duration of coaching depends on the client’s needs and goals. Because change takes time, it is recommended that you work with a coach for a minimum of a few sessions in order to see sustainable change. That time frame will allow us to establish a solid foundation, thoroughly identify your challenges and strengths and work together to develop new strategies and habits, while celebrating your progress and success along the way.

How long is a session?

Coaching sessions are usually 45-60 minutes depending on the focus on the session. I invite you to think of coaching as a process in your journey.  Many people create change for themselves in a short time.  However, depending on the area of need, refining and sustaining change can take several sessions and sometimes several months.  Although not binding, I would ask that you expect our coaching relationship to last at least a few sessions to allow for full growth.

Can we meet in person?

I usually meet with people via Zoom (video conference call), however, I would be open to meet you in person at your home or at a public location if you live within an hour drive. Over 30 minutes drive time is an additional $15.

PayPal or Venmo.
